About Palette Town

The art behind Palette Town

Every print starts with a blank canvas, a reference card, and a lot of layers.

Why Pokémon Art?

My name is Kelly, and I've been a Pokéfan ever since Pikachu followed me around in Yellow on my teal Gameboy Color.

In 2020 I started streaming pack openings and wanted art on my walls that actually matched the hobby. Something beyond plushies and ETBs. I visited my local card shop and noticed giant Yugioh posters on the walls (shout out to Core TCG). I asked the owner if anything like that existed for Pokémon. He said no. I looked everywhere online and came up empty.

So I decided to make them myself.

From Pixels
to Prints

At the time, Evolving Skies had just dropped and I was obsessed with the Eeveelution alt arts. I started with Umbreon and Espeon. It began with simple abstract shapes, which slowly became more intricate over time. Some prints now have over 1,000 individual layers.

Once I had a handful of prints I loved, I designed and built the store myself integrating print-on-demand, so I wasn't sitting on inventory. Turns out other Pokéfans did want them! In August 2023 we had our first booth at Anime Days Artist Alley, and I had the best time meeting collectors, hearing people's stories, and helping them bring their favorite Pokémon home. Today I'm drawing in my spare time, hunting for conventions across California, and taking requests. If there's a Pokémon you want to see, make sure to send us a request!

Every print is hand-drawn.
No AI necessary.

Every piece in the Palette Town shop is drawn entirely by hand ensuring no AI generation. Each print is built layer-by-layer from scratch, which is why some take weeks to finish. When you buy a Palette Town print, you're getting original artwork, not a prompt.
